Welcome to Mortons Law

Mortons was established in the late 19th Century and has been a permanent fixture of Sunderland City Centre ever since. In 2011 we expanded our operations to Seaham and in 2020 we opened our Durham office at Belmont Business Park. In 2024, we relocated our Sunderland Head Office to The Yard, Gill Bridge Avenue, Sunderland, SR1 3AW, previously known as the old Gilbridge Police Station.

Mortons is a broad based law firm and we are proud of our heritage and confident about the levels of expertise that we have built up over the years. Our solicitors are all specialists within their chosen fields thus ensuring that our clients receive authoritative advice.

In addition to being Lexcel, CQS, WIQS and Cyber Essentials accredited, we are contracted to provide publicly funded advice through the Legal Aid Agency. We also hold Law Society Children’s Panel accreditation and we are members of Resolution.
